Brazilian defender Luisao’s agent has hit out at Benfica, accusing them of attempting to push him out of the club this summer.
Speaking to O Jogo, Giuliano Bertolucci said that the veteran should have been treated better by his club who he has represented for the best part of the last decade.
Luisao was linked with signing for Wolves, with The Mail reporting in August that he was close to agreeing terms with the Championship side.

The move eventually broke down, and Luisao remains a Benfica player, and still their club captain.
Bertolucci claimed the potential switch was proposed to the defender internally by Benfica, stating: “It seemed like they wanted to push him out of the club.
“Luisao gave his best years at Benfica where he was always a starter and had many proposals to leave, but always stayed, and now they came to him with this proposal.”
Benfica and Wolves struck up close links in the transfer window after the Championship side were taken over by Fosun International, with agent Jorge Mendes the key middle man.
Ola John, Helder Costa and Joao Teixeira are three who did make the switch, but Luisao preferred to stay and fight for his place at Benfica.
