Luis Garcia and Ian Rush react on Twitter to Liverpool’s draw against Southampton

Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton at St. Mary’s yesterday.

Luis Garcia has admitted that Liverpool’s performance against Southampton fell short of their recent standards.

Liverpool were only able to claim a 0-0 draw against Southampton yesterday at St. Mary’s, after being given a tough test by Claude Puel’s side.

The Reds’ attacking play has won them many admirers this term, but they were unable to break through against the Saints.

Roberto Firmino and Phillipe Coutinho were both presented with good opportunities during the contest but they were unable to take them.

And former Liverpool winger Garcia has admitted that the Reds were not quite at their best on the south coast.

Liverpool legends Ian Rush and John Aldridge also took to social media after the match to express their thoughts.

Liverpool remain at the top of the Premier League table after their draw against Southampton, but their lead has been cut.

Liverpool are next in action on Saturday, when they take on an improving Sunderland side at Anfield.
