Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United have won against Southampton.

Former Liverpool star Luis Garcia has suggested on Twitter that Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez could earn a call-up to the Spain national football team.
The former Spain international, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 when current Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez was in charge of the Reds, made the suggestion following Perez’s heroics against Southampton this evening.
The 25-year-old Spaniard, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, scored a hat-trick for Newcastle, as the Magpies got the better of Southampton 3-1 at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has also praised Perez on Twitter, while former Magpie Micky Quinn has revelled in the win for the home team.

The win against Southampton at St. James’ Park this evening means that Newcastle are now 12th in the Premier League table with 41 points from 35 matches.
Benitez’s side are now as many as 10 points clear of third-from-bottom Cardiff City; the Magpies are safe from relegation.
