Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Luis Diaz, but so is Jose Mourinho, according to Antena2.
What’s the story?
Antena2 are reporting that Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing Diaz from FC Porto in the summer transfer window.
Spurs have reportedly been looking at the 24-year-old winger since his days at Atletico Junior.
The Colombia international joined Portuguese giants Porto from the Colombian club in the summer of 2019.
Jose Mourinho threat
However, Tottenham are not the only club who are interested in signing Diaz.
Italian champions Inter Milan are also keen on the winger.
And so are AS Roma, now managed by Mourinho, who was sacked by Spurs in April just before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
Mourinho has recently spoken about his sacking from Tottenham, and the former Manchester United and Chelsea manager would love to scupper Spurs’ transfer plan regarding Diaz.

Too expensive?
Mourinho is not the only major threat to Tottenham’s chances of signing the Colombian.
The transfer fee needed is also big.
Antena2 claim that Diaz’s release clause at Porto is €80 million (£68.34m).
That is a lot, and it is unlikely that Tottenham will cough up that much cash.
Perhaps a compromise could be reached, but it is unlikely that Porto will bring the price to anything less than £45 million.
Luis Diaz Stats
Diaz scored six goals and gave five assists in 16 league starts for Porto last season.
The 24-year-old scored two goals in four Champions League starts in 2020-21.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the Porto no.7 scored six goals and provided two assists in the league, and scored three goals and gave one assist in the Europa League.
