Felipe Anderson has joined West Ham United from Lazio.

Felipe Anderson of SS Lazio looks on during the serie A match between SS Lazio and UC Sampdoria at Stadio Olimpico on April 22, 2018 in Rome, Italy.

Lazio attacking midfielder Luis Alberto has described new West Ham United signing Felipe Anderson as an “extraordinary” footballer, as quoted by Calciomercato.com.

West Ham have signed Anderson from Italian club Lazio for a transfer fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £35 million.

Alberto, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, was on the books of Liverpool from 2013 until 2016, and the 25-year-old has said that Anderson will be missed by Lazio.

Calciomercato.com quotes Alberto as saying: “Felipe Anderson and de Vrij are two extraordinary players and for that we will miss them, but we just have to work hard because Tare is working to bring someone else in.”

Quality footballer

Anderson is a very talented and creative footballer, and Alberto’s comments underline just how good the Brazil international is.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder can be inconsistent, but when on form, the former Santos star is a handful for opposition defenders.

West Ham are building a strong squad, and the London Stadium faithful will expect Manuel Pellegrini’s side to at least challenge for the top six of the Premier League next season.

Among the other players West Ham have signed so far in the summer transfer window is former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on a free.
