Ludogorets manager Stanislav Genchev has hailed Jose Mourinho ahead of his side’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League this evening.
Speaking to the Evening Express, Genchev says that he will be honoured to compete against the Tottenham boss.
But Genchev does not want the focus to be on himself, and he insists it will be up to his players to cause an upset against Spurs.
“It is an exceptional thing to go up such against an amazing coach, whom I really admire,” Genchev said.
“But it is not me against him, it is the players on the pitch who will decide the game, it is club v club.”
Genchev is actually in temporary charge of Ludogorets, after taking over from Pavel Vrba, who was recently dismissed.
And he insists that his players should be embracing the opportunity to play against a club of the stature of Tottenham.
“It is a great privilege to play against a team like Tottenham, they are famous around the world and it will be shown around the world if we manage to win,” Genchev added.

“To play against Tottenham is a dream come true and it would be an even bigger dream to beat them.
“It doesn’t matter what the result in the first two games was, we will play the same way against Tottenham. We know they are one of elite teams in Europe so it is a pleasure to play them.”
Ludogorets’ chances of pulling off an upset may have been dented by Mourinho’s pre-match comments.
Tottenham lost their last Europa League game and, as a result, Mourinho has suggested that he will be picking a full strength line-up tonight.
If Spurs can win this evening, they will take a big step closer towards qualification, as they will move on to six points from their first three games.
