David Provan has sent a message to Rangers fans in The Scottish Sun regarding the current situation at Celtic.
While Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are going from strength to strength, Celtic are in turmoil and are making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The defending Scottish Premiership champions were recently criticised for going to Dubai for a week and then Christopher Jullien testing positive for coronavirus, with the team subsequently having to self-isolate.
Celtic legend Provan has reminded Rangers fans that it could have easily been the Ibrox club that were badly hit by the virus.
The Scotsman has reminded Rangers fans that Jordan Jones and George Edmundson were banned for seven games after breaking lockdown rules in November, as reported by BBC Sport.
Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Rangers fans enjoying Celtic’s embarrassment should count themselves lucky.
“Had the whistle not been blown on Jordan Jones and George Edmundson before they rejoined team-mates, Gers could have been in the same movie.”
Title is Rangers’ to lose
Celtic failed to win in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, playing out a goalless draw with Livingston at Celtic Park.
Rangers are in action this afternoon. The Gers will take on Motherwell away from home in the league.
Gerrard’s side are as many as 20 points clear of second-placed Celtic at the top of the league table, although the Hoops have played two fewer games.
