Kalvin Phillips has taken to Twitter to provide a personal injury update on his shoulder problem, which he suffered in Leeds’ defeat to Wolves on Monday.
The England international looked set to spend six weeks on the sidelines according to Leeds’ report, but the midfielder has come out to try and ease fears over his shoulder.
Phillips tweeted: ‘Luckily I won’t be needing surgery and have already started my rehab so looking forward to getting back on the pitch as soon as possible.’
The 24-year-old is crucial to Marcelo Bielsa, and Leeds need him back as soon as physically possible.
In addition to breaking into Gareth Southgate’s England squad, Phillips has also been instrumental in Leeds’ impressive return to life back in the Premier League.

He has started all five of the Yorkshire-based side’s league games, recording an eye-catching 3.4 tackles per game while also grabbing one assist, according to WhoScored.
In addition to that defensive steel, the Leeds No.23 – who earns £30,000-a-week according to The Mirror – has also shown his creativity with two key passes per game in England’s top-flight.
Furthermore, his ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ nickname doesn’t come from nothing.
WhoScored also shows that the defensive midfielder registers 5.4 successful long passes per game. He simply loves spraying long-range pings all over the pitch.

Bielsa doesn’t really have anyone like Phillips in his squad to replace him, and is light on midfielders in general.
That is why the Argentine tried to sign the likes of Michael Cuisance, Todd Cantwell and Rodrigo De Paul during the transfer window.
We can only hope that Phillips returns as soon as physically possible.
