The former Leeds striker was delighted for the Whites on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds United got a vote of confidence from a familiar face on social media on Saturday afternoon.
Indeed, after Uwe Rosler’s men secured their first Championship win of the season against Derby County – thereby also extending their unbeaten run to five games (!) – Luciano Becchio congratulated the Yorkshire club on Twitter.
The former Leeds striker has become a bit of a cult hero at Elland Road and many even wanted him to return to the club in January.
As it happened, Becchio returned to homeland Argentina this summer – but he is still keeping an eye on former side Leeds.
Elsewhere, journalist and former Sheffield United & Middlesbrough striker Jan Aage Fjortoft also congratulated boss Rosler and Leeds after the 2-1 win.
Derby had drawn all of their league games going into the clash – just like United.
The margins were fine at Derby County, as a goal the other way could have seen Leeds end up with four draws and one loss out of five. Rosler’s men took a risk and went for the win, though, and their Championship campaign now looks a lot different for the better.
