The German signed a new six-year deal with Liverpool.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, midfielder Lucas Leiva believes that it is “great news” for the club that manager Jurgen Klopp signed a new deal.
The German, who replaced Brendan Rogers in October of last year, put pen to paper on a new six-year deal with the Reds, potentially keeping him on Merseyside until 2022.

The 48-year-old was a big hit with Liverpool last year, leading the club to the Capital One Cup final and Europa League final, though Manchester City and Sevilla pipped them to both titles.
Still, Liverpool fans will be delighted to know that the charismatic manager is theirs for the foreseeable future, and so too is midfielder Lucas.
“It’s great news for the club and for the fans as well because the relationship with him started really well and we hope that he will have a lot of success at the club,” the Brazilian told the Reds’ official website.

It promises to be an exciting 2016-17 season as Klopp prepares for his first full season in charge. The former Borussia Dortmund boss has already added £34 million winger Sadio Mane to his ranks and other big names might well follow over the coming weeks.
Will they challenge for title? It’s too early to say, but fans will be hoping they can because that will always be the aim for Liverpool as a club.
