West Ham United reportedly want to sign the Atalanta hitman.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Estadio Deportivo, West Ham forward Lucas Perez wants to return to Spain this summer, whilst Tutto Mercato Web are reporting that Manuel Pellegrini is still keen to bring Duvan Zapata to the London Stadium.
The Hammers experienced somewhat of a difficult Premier League campaign this season, ending up in 10th spot, and an area where Pellegrini will be desperate to improve this summer is his attacking department.
Andy Carroll will leave on a free, but West Ham must also look to get rid of Lucas Perez who is quite clearly not good enough for the east London outfit.
Estadio Deportivo’s report that the Spaniard wants a return to his homeland will be greeted with great cheer from the Hammers fanbase.
TuttoMercatoWeb claims that West Ham boss Pellegrini could move for Zapata as a replacement for Perez, although he would have to pay somewhere in the region of €50 million (£45 million) in order to secure the Colombian’s signature.
The 28-year-old has been on fire in Italy this season, racking up an impressive 27 goals and eight assists in 45 appearances in all competitions thus far.

He would offer West Ham an entirely different threat through the middle, what with his pace and clinical finishing.
And if the Hammers can get rid of Perez, whilst bringing in Zapata in his place, it would surely have to be considered as excellent business from West Ham.
