The agent of Tottenham Hotspur ace Lucas Moura has told Jorge Nicolathat the attacker intends to stay with Spurs – but isn’t entirely closing the door on an exit.

Spurs moved to sign Moura in January 2018, prising him away from Paris Saint-Germain to bolster Mauricio Pochettino’s attack in a £25million deal.

Once tipped for stardom with Sao Paulo, Moura blew hot and cold at PSG, and it’s sadly been more of the same from him during his time in London.

Moura, 27, hit seven goals and three assists this season, before the global pandemic struck. His total record for Spurs now stands at 23 goals and nine assists in 99 games.

He maybe hasn’t been quite as productive as fans would have hoped, especially in terms of assists. Yet he did provide the club with one of its greatest ever nights, bagging at hat-trick against Ajax to send Spurs into the Champions League final.

Jose Mourinho has been a long-term fan of Moura, so he doesn’t appear to be at risk. However, his agent has at least left the door ajar for a move away.

Agent Junior Pedroso has now admitted that Moura is happy at Tottenham as he’s playing in the Premier League, but would like Spurs to be more competitive – something that they’re banking on Mourinho to solve.

Pedroso did though add that teams in Spain, Germany and China have all wanted Moura. Whilst the winger will honour his £80,000-a-week deal at Tottenham, a possible exit isn’t ruled out.

“Today he’s in the main league in the world, in the most competitive league, Tottenham are a team that challenge for titles in Europe,” said Pedroso. ‘So, he wants to continue, obviously to grow at Tottenham and seek a more competitive team. I think Mourinho will work on that.”

“But there’s always one or more windows of opportunity that sometimes I watch. In Spain itself. I will not quote names now, so I don’t create controversy. In Germany… China have made millionaire proposals twice before limiting wages. One was financially really tempting and Lucas remained steadfast in his attitude of following his career project. So today the discussion is: we will fulfil our contract obviously because he always wants to grow at Tottenham and in the Premier League. But we’re always attentive to the market because football is very dynamic, you can’t settle on a contract and expect that you’ll fulfil it entirely,” he added.
