Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen was forced off with a head injury in midweek, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side fell to a defeat.

Vertonghen had to be taken off during Spurs’ semi-final clash with Ajax, after suffering a head injury.
The Belgian defender looked very unsteady on his feet as he went off the pitch at White Hart Lane, and there were real concerns over his well-fare.
But Moura has insisted that Vertonghen looked much better at full-time.
“The action was strong, it was dangerous. Was he lucky? I don’t know, I don’t believe in ‘lucky’. It happens in football. I’m happy because I saw him after the game, he was good,” the £25 million attacker (Independent) said.

Tottenham lost 1-0 to Ajax on Tuesday, and they put in a disappointing performance in the contest.
Spurs never really clicked into gear, although they were missing a lot of key players.
Tottenham now must go to Holland and win if they are to progress to the semi-finals.
There is a hope that Vertonghen will be fit to play, in what would be a massive boost for Pochettino’s side.
