Tottenham fans would be forgiven for feeling frustrated with Lucas Moura.

2019 hasn’t really gone to plan for Tottenham Hotspur just yet, but the imminent move into their new stadium is at least something to shout about.

A lack of signings, a number of injuries and some patchy results have left some fans frustrated, with Tottenham’s top four place under threat all of a sudden.

Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to make changes this summer, and it seems that only a select number of players are really safe from the chop.

One player who should certainly be fearing the axe is winger Lucas Moura, who has been a major disappointment since the turn of the year.

The Brazilian winger hit the headlines early in the season with a brace at Manchester United, and he looked like becoming a key part of the Spurs side after a slow start.

However, Moura has played in nine games this year and registered no goals and just the one assist, which came against League Two side Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup.

Earning £80,000-a-week (Spotrac), Moura isn’t proving value for money right now, and whilst some of those appearances have been as a substitute, even in starts he hasn’t looked impressive.

His dip since the end of 2018 has been shocking, and he has now become Tottenham’s biggest disappointment of 2019 – meaning he shouldn’t feel too safe at Spurs just yet, especially with a number of attackers being linked with the club, and Pochettino’s history of binning his own signings.
