The young Liverpool defender played his first game in over a year last week.
Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has taken to Instagram to share his delight at Joe Gomez’s return from injury.
The youngster has spent more than a year out of action after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury last October.
He made a much-anticipated return last week, playing 45 minutes in a behind closed doors friendly with Accrington Stanley.

It was the first time the 19-year-old has played in the last 13 months and a major step in his rehabilitation.
Liverpool fans were naturally delighted to see him back but it appears they weren’t the only ones as his teammate sent him a message on Instagram.
Gomez will now be focused on continuing to build up his fitness and potentially make a first team return sometime this season.
He is highly regarded at Anfield after impressing in his first months at the club and will be determined to get to work under Jurgen Klopp after missing out so far.
He would be wise not to rush, though, with patience likely to reward him further down the line in his Liverpool career.
