Lucas Glover caused somewhat of a stir during his final round at the 3M Open.
Glover made the cut at the 3M Open this week, but he finished well down the leaderboard in a tie for 57th.
The 46-year-old is the archetypal pro’s pro, and he has been out on the PGA Tour for more than two decades now.
Lucas Glover has six PGA Tour wins to his name, including a major championship, so he is far more than just an average journeyman.
The man from Greenville, South Carolina, is one of the most outspoken players in the game, both on and off the golf course.
One of Glover’s biggest pet peeves is AimPoint – the green-reading method that so many PGA Tour players have adopted over the past few years.

During his final round at the 3M Open, Glover rolled in a nine-foot putt for birdie on the 10th hole.
He then took off his golf shoes and left them on the side of the green before picking his ball out of the hole.
Many thought this was Glover’s response to those who use AimPoint and trample all around the hole.
However, the 2009 US Open champion has cleared things up and explained exactly why he did what he did.
“No, not even close. Nothing to do with AimPoint actually,“ Glover wrote on Instagram.
“Complaints behind me about spike marks. I wear metal. Someone in the group ahead of us was too.
“Singled me out. Just goofing off.“
Not many players wear metal spikes anymore.
Glover is obviously a traditionalist and prefers the solid feel he gets from wearing metal spikes.
The problem with that is they can chew up the greens, leaving a whole host of spike marks on the surfaces.
However, players are allowed to tap down spike marks in their lines now, so to complain about Glover’s spikes damaging the greens is ridiculous.
Vijay Singh once complained about Phil Mickelson’s metal spikes
At the Masters in 2005, Vijay Singh reported Mickelson to officials, suggesting that his spikes were too long.
“On the 13th hole, two officials approached me at two different times,“ Mickelson said in a statement.
“They were sent by Vijay to check my spikes because he felt they were unduly damaging the greens. If that is the case, I am very apologetic and will make every effort to tap down what spike marks I may make in the future.
“However, I was extremely distracted and would have appreciated if it would have been handled differently or after the round.
“After sitting in the locker for a while, I heard Vijay talking to other players about it and I confronted him.
“He expressed his concerns. I expressed my disappointment with the way it was handled. I believe everything is fine now.“
