Lucas Glover is the epitome of a seasoned PGA Tour player.

Glover has enjoyed an incredibly successful career, with six PGA Tour wins to his name, including one major championship.

And the 46-year-old from Greenville, South Carolina, has set himself up nicely to challenge for another win this week at the ISCO Championship after an opening-round 63.

While Lucas Glover has enjoyed a fabulous career, he obviously hasn’t come close to achieving what Tiger Woods has in the game.

The now 50-year-old has won an incredible 82 times on the PGA Tour during his career, including 15 major championships.

Tiger Woods is the wealthiest golfer in the history of the game due to his on-course success and off-course appeal to sponsors.

However, after Glover’s round of 63 in Kentucky on Thursday, he can now actually be talked about in the same breath as Woods, in one specific category at least.

Glover’s opening round at Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky, was a pleasure to watch.

He made seven birdies and 11 pars and is tied for the lead at the ISCO Championship with 54 holes left to play.

And in shooting seven-under par on Thursday, Glover achieved something that was last managed by Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour eight years ago.

Glover has now held the lead on the PGA Tour after 18 holes in consecutive weeks.

The last player aged 40 or over to do that was Woods in 2018.

Glover’s achievement is a sign that he is still more than capable of competing at the age of 46.

However, whether he is still capable of winning on the PGA Tour remains to be seen.

Other notable scores at the ISCO Championship

Max Homa posted an opening-round 67 at the ISCO Championship – one that was matched by talented youngster Jackson Koivun and popular journeyman Joel Dahmen.

Denny McCarthy, Luke Clanton and Preston Stout all carded rounds of 68, while Camillo Villegas posted a 69.

The course is certainly gettable this week in Kentucky.

Lucas Glover will have to keep his foot down on the accelerator if he is to win his seventh PGA Tour title this week.

However, even if he doesn’t manage to do that, he can be extremely proud of the fact that he has managed to achieve something on the PGA Tour that hasn’t been done since Tiger Woods accomplished it in 2018.
