Bolton’s highly-rated youngster Luca Connell is reportedly attracting interest from Glasgow duo Celtic and Rangers, as well as English duo Wolves and Southampton.

The Scottish Sun claim that Celtic, Rangers and Wolves are just among a host of clubs interested in the 18-year-old teenage star, who can operate in various defensive positions.

If Connell had a choice then he should choose to join Celtic over their Glasgow rivals Rangers and a move to England’s top-flight.

Give his current age and lack of experience in terms of games played, the versatile player would find it difficult earning regular game time at a Wolves or a Southampton.

But if he were to move north of the border and to the Scottish Premiership then it’ll increase his chances of playing regularly and taking his game to the next level.

Celtic are the Scottish Premiership champions and, at this moment in time, they hold the main key in Scotland’s top-flight given their dominance in recent seasons.

Not only that, both under Brendan Rodgers and now Neil Lennon, they have constantly given game time to the younger players, so Connell wouldn’t need to worry about spending time outside of the matchday 18.

Plus, the Bhoys are on the lookout for that more defensive-minded midfielder and a player like Connell would benefit in huge ways if he were to play and train alongside a Scott Brown on a weekly basis.

Considering Connell’s current club, Bolton are now sitting in the third tier of English football and struggling from a financial perspective, it won’t be a surprise to see the youngster part ways with the recently relegated club.
