As announced on Celtic’s official website, the Glasgow giants have secured the services of Connell on a four-year contract.
The Daily Mail has reported that the Hoops have paid English club Bolton £350,000 in compensation fee.
The 18-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder and is an Everton fan, has revealed what he has been told about Celtic’s Old Firm rivalry with Rangers.
Connell has revealed that he has been told that the Old Firm rivalry between Celtic and Rangers is worse than the rivalry between Merseyside clubs Everton and Liverpool.
Connell told The Scottish Sun: “I am just playing for Celtic and I am focusing on that. As long as we are getting the results, that’s all that matters, isn’t it? But I’m looking forward to those big games, I can’t wait.
“I’ve been told about the rivalry, and I’ve been told that it is worse than Everton and Liverpool. But it is another thing for me to look forward to. It is unbelievable.”

Good long-term signing
Connell is a very talented and promising young player whose versatility to play as a defender or as a midfielder will help him in the coming years.
It is going to be hard for the youngster to establish himself in Neil Lennon’s side rightaway, but given his talent and potential, he certainly has what it takes to be a long-term success at Celtic.
