Celtic cult hero Lubomir Moravcik has told The Herald that he thinks Bhoys target Vakoun Issouf Bayo could be another Moussa Dembele.

Celtic lost 1-0 to Rangers on Saturday afternoon, meaning they now sit joint-top of the Scottish Premiership with their bitter Old Firm rivals.

Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to get new faces in this month, and at least one striker is absolutely paramount for the Bhoys.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Timothy Weah is one name linked, but another one is Dunajska Streda striker Bayo.

The Daily Mail report that a £1.75million bid from Celtic for Bayo has been rejected, but talks will continue in an effort to secure a deal.

Bayo, 21, has hit 18 goals and seven assists in 23 games for the Slovakian side this season, and the Ivorian appears to be a top target for Celtic out of nowhere.

Now, Slovakian Moravcik – a Celtic cult hero – has offered his view, and believes that Celtic may have found another Moussa Dembele, backing Bayo to score plenty of goals for the Bhoys before moving on for huge profit.

“When Moussa Dembele came to Celtic he was nobody,” said Moravcik. “After two years he moved to Lyon for £20 million. I think Bayo can do the same – come from nowhere, play well at Celtic and then move on to a top club in England or elsewhere in Europe,” he added.
