Some Rangers fans are loving comments made by Adam Lallana in tribute to a current Ibrox player.

The Rangers midfielder Steven Davis surpassed Pat Jennings as Northern Ireland’s most-capped international against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Thursday, in which he made his 120th appearance.

Ahead of the game, Sky Sports gathered a string of Davis’s past-and-present coaches, teammates and colleagues, as well as family members and friends, to congratulate the 35-year-old.

And Lallana’s words stood out more than most to those of a Rangers persuasion.

“What an achievement, I think, to make your 120th cap for your country is something to be immensely proud of,” said the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder. “Never underestimate the sacrifices that you’ve had to make – family, your club football as well. And, to reach your 120th cap, I think, there’s not many internationals that have done that.

“So, top man, top player. And up the Rangers, as well. Come on, the boys!”

This is how Rangers Twitter reacted to the video:

Lallana played alongside Davis at Southampton, before linking up with the Rangers winger Ryan Kent and manager Steven Gerrard at Liverpool.

The 34-cap England international moved to Brighton when his Liverpool deal expired at the end of last season, which he ended with a Premier League winners’ medal.

Gerrard also had positive things to say about Davis, whom he brought back to Rangers from Southampton in January last year.

Rangers fans – how good a servant has Davis been to you?
