Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter as details emerge about Emi Buendia’s transfer to Aston Villa.

Those in Arsenal colours would have been pretty surprised at missing out on his signature and now a few details are emerging about their transfer battle with Villa.

The Independent claim that Arsenal offered equivalent personal terms to Aston Villa for the Norwich man, but he opted to head to the Midlands rather than London.

It’s not a good look for those in the Emirates Stadium boardroom.

Arsenal are still a big club, but as fans have been fearing for some while, they are losing their pull, and this just proves it.

It doesn’t help Arsenal’s cause in the transfer market that they didn’t qualify for Europe, but nor did Aston Villa.

And when Villa confirmed on their official Twitter account on Monday that they have agreed to sign Buendia then it would have hurt Arsenal fans pretty hard.

Reports are suggesting that Villa have broken their club-record transfer for his signature and the £33 million player will pen down a five-year contract.

The deal is yet to be fully completed, but Arsenal, who just endured one of their worst seasons in nearly three decades, have got off on the back foot already ahead of a crucial summer transfer window.
