Sir Kenny Dalglish has raved about Rangers midfielder Steven Davis in The Sunday Post.

The Celtic legend has been impressed by the performances of Davis for Rangers this season.

The former Celtic and Liverpool forward has said that the 36-year-old Northern Ireland international has been exceptional for Rangers this campaign.

Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post: “Davis has also been exceptional. He is 36 but rarely misses a game. His energy levels are really impressive.

“He also appears to be low maintenance for manager, Steven Gerrard. But he is also full of quality in what he is able to contribute on the park. He is a true leader.

“He drives Rangers on from midfield, and also allows others to flourish. Steven knows he can depend on the Northern Irishman for 90 minutes in every game.”

Davis may be 36 years of age, but the Rangers star remains a big player for manager Steven Gerrard.

The former Aston Villa and Fulham midfielder is still going strong and is very popular among the Rangers fans as well.

According to WhoScored, Davis has made 24 starts and six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season.

The veteran midfielder also made eight appearances in the Europa League, scored one goal in one Scottish League Cup matches, and found the back of the net once in two Scottish Cup ties, according to WhoScored.

Rangers handed Davis a new one-year contract in March, which suggests that the Gers still see the midfielder as a big figure in the team.

Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership title this season and also reached the Europa League Round of 16.
