Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has cooled talk of a title challenge from his side, when speaking to the club’s official website.
The former Southampton man also claimed that he and his teammates know exactly how to go and win big away games in the Premier League.
The Reds were magnificent in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea, and seized the initiative after the 27-year-old Croatian finished smartly from six-yards out.
Jürgen Klopp’s men were lavished with praise in the aftermath of the win over the Blues from fans and pundits alike, but Lovren is taking a more pragmatic view on talk of a potential title challenge, telling liverpoolfc.com:

“It’s too early to talk about a title challenge, but we are positive and we can keep playing well.”
The Merseyside outfit have taken seven points from a possible nine in away games at Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and now Chelsea, and Lovren insists that is not by chance:
“We know what we need to do when we come to away games, especially against big teams like Chelsea. We are a team who wants to play, who wants to win – we are not a team who will defend deep and await our chances. It’s always the same speech from Klopp, always positive! We need to keep working hard. We’ve had a great week in training so everyone was positive.”

Lovren moved to Anfield two years ago for a fee believed to be in the region of £20 million, but has only recently established himself as a regular starter.
He has been an integral part of Liverpool’s impressive start to the season, and if he and his teammates continue to produce performances like they have done already, there is no reason why Klopp’s men can’t mount a sustained title challenge.
