According to The Express & Star, Lovre Kalinic will be at Villa Park this weekend to watch the Championship game between Aston Villa and Leeds United.

It has been reported that Villa could announce the signing of Kalinic from Belgian club Gent today, although the 28-year-old goalkeeper will not be able to play for the Villans before the January transfer window opens.

According to The Telegraph, the Croatia international goalkeeper will cost Villa a transfer fee of £7 million.

Villa will take on Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds at Villa Park in the Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Good signing for Aston Villa?

Kalinic is a very good goalkeeper who has played 14 times for the Croatia national football team.

The 28-year-old will arrive at Villa Park with a strong reputation, and he will be a genuine challenge for Orjan Nyland for the spot between the Villa posts.

Nyland has shown encouraging signs in recent weeks, but the Norway international goalkeeper does need to be pushed, with Villa challenging for the Championship playoffs this season.
