Wolverhampton Wanderers target Aleksander Buksa has a future at Wisla Krakow despite speculation linking the “new Robert Lewandowski” with a move away, co-owner Jaroslaw Krolewski has told Sportowe Fakty.

Those similarities with the most prolific striker in world football could be as much a curse as they are a blessing. And it remains to be seen whether this highly rated striker can live up to comparisons with Bayern Munich’s treble-winning number nine.

Admittedly, standing at 6ft 2in and blessed with a lethal finish inside the box, Buksa certainly has something of the Lewandowski about him.

And Sportowe reports Wolves are looking to add the Pole to a vast array of exciting youngsters at Molineux.

Buksa’s representative, the influential Pini Zahavi, has an excellent relationship with fellow super-agent Jorge Mendes and the report suggests this could open the door for a move to England in 2021.

The striker’s contract is due to expire next summer too, meaning Wisla Krakow’s hands are tied.

But, according to co-owner Krolewski, there’s still a chance the youngster could stay. A new three-year deal has been verbally agreed, according to Wyborcza.

Olek is a sensible person and he will manage his career appropriately. I think Olek loves this club. He spent the most important years of his career here. I believe many beautiful moments are still ahead of him,” Krolewski explains, before making it clear Buksa won’t be forced to stay.

“Privately, I am a believer people should be free to make their own decisions. This is my approach to life. Ultimately, I believe you cannot force someone to work, be loyal or loving.”

Buksa won’t come cheap at £4 million but Wolves have history when it comes to paying substantial fees for unproven youngsters – see Pedro Neto, Bruno Jordao and Leonardo Campana.
