Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they have signed up Michael Dawson in an ambassadorial role.

The former Spurs defender announced his retirement from playing today, at the age 37.

But the Lilywhites were quick to reveal on Twitter that they’re taking him back on board as club ambassador.

Dawson captained Tottenham for two seasons and overall managed 324 appearances for the club.

Trophy

Dawson was part of the last Tottenham squad to win a trophy.

The four-time England international won the League Cup back in 2008 under Juande Ramos.

Dawson, who was the Lilywhites’ Player of the Year in 2010, was also a runner-up in the same competition 12 months later as Spurs lost to Manchester United.
