Blackpool fans were full of praise for Arsenal loanee, Daniel Ballard, after he helped his side record a crucial 1-0 win at Sunderland.
Ballard isn’t a name that is being banded around too much at Arsenal, as more fancied names, such as William Saliba, are the ones being talked about.
But quietly over in League One, Ballard is thriving in Tangerine colours, with yesterday’s win moving his side into the play-off places.
It’s not only on the domestic scene that the Arsenal academy product is making himself known, but he recently made his international debut for Northern Ireland too.
All in all, Arsenal seem to be creating a bulldozing gem, who is adored by the Blackpool supporters.
Promotion or no promotion, it seems as though many of them would like him to return next season, and given that Arsenal are stacked in that department, they might get their wish.
Of course, for Ballard’s own progression, it’s best he moves up a division and tests himself in England’s second-tier.
And if Blackpool can continue their journey back to the top by earning promotion then that might just prove to be even better for all parties.
