Gabby Agbonlahor has stated on Instagram that he ‘loved scoring against West Brom’, as he urged Aston Villa to beat them today.

Dean Smith’s men will make the short trip across the Hawthorns to take on the Baggies in a potentially mouthwatering Midlands tie.

West Brom sacked Slaven Bilic this week and replaced him with the safe hands of Sam Allardyce, which no doubt adds its own added-drama into today’s clash.

Well, ahead of that showdown, Agbonlahor stated that he wants Villa to show the Baggies ‘who is the biggest club in the Midlands’.

The last time both Villa and West Brom locked horns was in the Championship play-off semi-final when Smith’s side knocked them out on penalties.

It was quite a memorable day for those at Villa because that game helped them return to the promised land.

Whilst there was some surprise at Bilic’s sacking, West Brom are still in safe hands with Allardyce, it’s just a case of the experienced Englishman hoping for some early bounce.

But they do face a tough task against a Villa side that have been pretty ruthless on the road this season, as they beat Wolves 1-0 last week on their patch.
