Speaking to The Design Museum to celebrate the launch of its new exhibition, Football: Designing the Beautiful Game, Ray Parlour has been chatting about Harry Kane.
Parlour may be one of Arsenal’s biggest legends, but even he’s had to hold his hands up and admire just how good the Tottenham star is.
Kane has been red hot in recent weeks and he grabbed another goal on Wednesday evening against Brighton to move him up yet another spot in the Premier League all-time scoring charts.
Parlour says that he loves to watch Kane, and he firmly believes that the striker has a great chance of taking Alan Shearer’s record from him.
What’s been said?
Parlour praised Kane.
“I love to watch Harry Kane at Tottenham and it was great to see him overtake Thierry Henry in the all-time goalscoring charts recently. I think he has a great chance of overtaking Alan Shearer as the Premier League’s all-time record goal scorer, if he stays in England for his entire career. It might depend on if he chooses to stay at Tottenham or he makes a big move to a Premier League rival. Harry Kane is unbelievable and I like how he’s adjusted his game to become a creator with his passing range as well as a predator in the box,” Parlour said.

What a player
You have to be a fantastic player in order to draw praise from Ray Parlour while playing for Tottenham, and that’s exactly what Kane is.
The forward has Alan Shearer’s record in his sights, and while there’s still a long way to go, that goal looks more and more achievable with each passing week.
Kane’s style of play and ability to drop deep may prolong his career, and if he continues playing at the top level for another seven or eight years, Shearer’s record will be under serious threat.
