It was good whilst it lasted for Liverpool fans as they watched Adam Lallana in action for Brighton against Chelsea yesterday.

The 32-year-old left Anfield for the Amex Stadium this summer and yesterday he made his debut for the South Coast club, but he suffered yet another unfortunate injury as his side fell to a 3-1 defeat.

Whilst Liverpool fans were disappointed that the midfielder is seemingly getting no luck in the injury department, they were impressed with what they saw during his 45 minutes.

Chelsea had a number of big-name and big-money players making their debuts yesterday, including their highest purchase during this window – £71 million man Kai Havertz [BBC Sport].

During the time Lallana was on the field, a section of Liverpool fans felt that he outperformed the technically-gifted German playmaker.

Brighton were unlucky in the sense that they deserved more from the game, especially the first 45 minutes, because they were moving the ball with speed, attacking Chelsea’s box, as Lallana was showcasing his old self and driving forward with the ball.

Liverpool’s trophies under Jurgen Klopp

  1. Champions League

    2018/19

  2. UEFA Super Cup

    2019

  3. FIFA Club World Cup

  4. Premier League

    2019/20

He looked lively on the ball and Brighton should have found the back of the net in the first half, but in the end, it was the Premier League title contenders who walked away with the three points.

But that didn’t stop Liverpool fans from praising their former player and wishing him the best as he aims to return from yet another knock:
