Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Fabrizio Romano’s claim that the club are ‘convinced’ that they can keep hold of Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt winger has a contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2023 and Romano told Bench Warmers that they will ‘soon’ talk about his contract expiring.
The usual suspects, such as Real Madrid and Barcelona have popped up this season as possible next destinations for Anfield’s speed king.
But some Liverpool fans are loving Romano’s update about Salah because they are eager for him to stay.
Since his £44 million move from Roma in 2017 (Guardian), the 28-year-old has written himself into the legendary books on Merseyside.
Therefore, it’s understandable why the Liverpool support wants him to stay beyond this season and when his contract expires in a few years.
There has been a lot of talk about Liverpool needing to refresh their front three after an injury-hit campaign that has seen Jurgen Klopp’s men suffer blow after blow.
But for those at Anfield, it’s pretty clear that Salah, who is joint-top goalscorer in the Premier League this season, is their man going forward.
