Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing an update on Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Lewis Bate, Cody Drameh and Charlie Cresswell.
What’s the story?
Well, Leeds have announced that all five Academy prospects have received international recognition for their efforts so far this season.
Lee Carsley has named Cresswell in his England Under-21 squad for the crucial Under-21 EURO qualifying match against Czech Republic.
Elsewhere, Andy Edwards has named Gelhardt, Greenwood, Bate and Drameh in his England Under-20 squad, where they’ll face Portugal.
To even have one Academy gem called up to represent England is good enough, so to see five Leeds prospects named is amazing.
As one fan below wrote, it’s testament to the fine coaching work of Under-23 boss Mark Jackson at Thorp Arch.
Leeds Academy investment paying off

Since earning promotion to the Premier League, Leeds have invested heavily in their Academy.
Gelhardt was signed for £1m, and Greenwood arrived from Arsenal in a deal worth £1.5m.
Elsewhere, Bate cost £1.2m, while Drameh was around the £1m mark.
Leeds also signed Crysencio Summerville for £1.3m.

Clearly, Leeds have decided to go big on spending to bring the best prodigies to Elland Road, where Bielsa and Jackson can develop them.
Without question, the future is bright at Elland Road.
For now, let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about the news on Gelhardt, Greenwood, Bate, Drameh and Cresswell…
