Sylvain Distin has claimed on Sky Sports Instagram page that he would ‘love’ for Diego Costa to join Everton but he thinks he’s heading for Tottenham.
Sky Sports posted on their Instagram page that an ‘unnamed’ top-six Premier League club have offered the ex-Chelsea hitman the chance to sign for them until the end of the campaign.
In the comments section of the below post, Distin, who played at Goodison Park, wrote the following about the free-agent: “Probably Spurs but I would love to see him at Everton.”
Whilst, a club like Tottenham haven’t been mentioned, Distin thinks they are the club who have offered him that chance.
In truth, it is a surprise that a Premier League club haven’t tried snapping up Costa’s signature, especially given that he would arrive without a fee.
It may be off-putting for some London clubs to sign him because he is a Chelsea legend, but both Manchester clubs, Everton or any of the teams near the European places could do with the added legs.
Whilst the clock is ticking closer until Jim White bellows across the Sky studios that the transfer window is closed, Costa can still sign for any club beyond that deadline.
So, it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this ‘unnamed’ club offering him a chance to sign him.
