
Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to the reception Danny Rose got before and after their 1-0 win against Watford on Sunday.
This was the first time Rose was back in North London after he left the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Inside Tottenham quarters, things didn’t end well for the Englishman because he ended up seeing off the last 12 months of his contract by training with the U23’s.
Although, during the warm-up of yesterday’s game, Spurs fans applauded their former player.
Then, after the full-time whistle, Rose walked around the Tottenham pitch and got applauded by all corners of the ground.
The Tottenham faithful were glad that he was able to receive such a reception because he left in such an abrupt, and perhaps negative manner.
That debut goal in the North London derby will live long in the memory of Spurs supporters because it was a volley of a lifetime.
During his last few years at Spurs, Rose may have fallen off a cliff, but at one stage, he was perhaps the best left-back in the country.
That was proven by him helping push the club into the Champions League places on a regular basis and being England’s number one.
Nonetheless, Rose wasn’t the only one returning yesterday because Moussa Sissoko, who only just left, also received a warm send-off.
In truth, this is Rose and Sissoko’s proper way of saying goodbye because they weren’t able to get one when they were still donning Tottenham colours.
