Some Aston Villa fans on social media are over the moon after it was announced that Aaron Danks has been appointed as a first-team coach.
Villa’s coaching staff took a hit this summer after John Terry’s departure as the Chelsea legend looks for his first senior managerial job, but the arrival of Danks seems to have impressed the fanbase.
Danks certainly has a lot of coaching pedigree. He joins from Anderlecht where he worked alongside the likes of Vincent Kompany and Craig Bellamy, while he’s previously worked in the FA set-up with the England youth teams.
Danks specialises in coaching attacking football, taking up the role of Lead Offensive Specialist Coach with the FA, where he tasted a lot of success, namely with the U20s where he won the World Cup.
With Villa’s attack looking very exciting this season after the additions of Danny Ings, Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia, and Danks could help all three of those players fulfil their potential at Villa Park.
Here’s what supporters have been saying about this appointment on social media…
