Rio Ferdinand has taken to Twitter to praise Charlie Patino, after the Arsenal wonderkid sent a heartwarming message to a fan.

What’s the story?

Well, this is brilliant from the 18-year-old Arsenal gem.

After hearing about a young supporter suffering from cowardly bullying, Patino offered to send him a signed pair of football boots.

You can see Ferdinand and Patino’s tweets below.

It really is a wonderful gesture from the teenager, one which should go some way to cheering the young fan up.

However, that wasn’t all.

Alexandre Lacazette and Alex Scott also reached out to the young supporter, as the Arsenal family rallied around one of their own.

Scott offered him free tickets to the Arsenal Women’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Wolfsburg in March, as well as a signed copy of her book.

Additionally, Lacazette also offered the boy and his mother free tickets to a game – well done to Patino, Scott and the Frenchman.

Despite plenty of toxicity in recent times, Arsenal are a family club who take care of the community.

That was evident in their recent No More Red campaign against violent crime in London.

The Gunners have made a long-term commitment to tackle the root cause of such issues, provide safe spaces and also more opportunities for the youngsters of England’s capital.

It is impressive stuff, and the Arsenal players clearly share the club’s ethos judging by the messages sent to the young fan.

Hopefully, the youngster’s spirits have been lifted by these lovely gestures.
