Speaking on the Ladbible YouTube channel, Jermaine Jenas has been waxing-lyrical about Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey.
The young midfielder has been lighting up the Premier League this season, putting in some spectacular performances against some of the best teams in the league.
Ramsey has shone against the likes of Manchester United and Leeds in recent weeks, and Jenas has been very impressed by what he’s seen.
What’s been said?
Jenas heaped praise upon Ramsey comparing him to both Zinedine Zidane and Yaya Toure.
“My favourite youngster right now is Jacob Ramsey. I love this kid so much, he has this flow to his game where he glides past people, that’s what Zidane used to do. Then when he’s driving with his mentality, that’s what Yaya Toure used to do. He’s very composed in deep areas on the ball, he’s got so many facets of different players that I look at in his game and I think I’m not seeing much wrong with this player. He’s my tip to make Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup,” Jenas said.

World Cup chance
Jenas says that Ramsey is his tip to make the World Cup squad, and that’s not a bad shout at all.
England’s midfield is jam-packed full of talent right now, but there is a space there for a player like Ramsey to make his own.
The midfielder is an absolute dream player for any team, and England could really do with a ball-carrier who can create and score in the way Ramsey can.
Don’t be surprised if this youngster makes his international debut in the coming months.
