Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Ibrahima Konate has been chatting about Mamadou Sakho.
Konate was answering a number of fan questions, and one supporter asked him which former Liverpool player would he most liked to have played with.
Rather than choosing one of Anfield’s many legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard or John Barnes, the Frenchman interestingly chose Sakho.
What’s Konate said about Sakho?
The defender responded with an interesting answer when asked which former Liverpool player he’d most liked to have played with.
“I think Mamadou Sakho, because I love this guy and I love his life. I never see him, but he played in the same club as me in Paris. For me and for other young French players he’s like a big brother you know, so I think I’ll choose him,” Konate said.

Strange choice
We have to say, this is a bit of a strange choice from Konate.
The Frenchman clearly looks up to Sakho and he knows him from his time in Paris, but surely there are better choices from Liverpool’s storied history.
Think about some of the centre-backs Konate could have chosen. The likes of Alan Hansen, Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher come to mind, but he wishes he could have played with Sakho.
Unfortunately for Konate, the 31-year-old was sold to Crystal Palace back in 2017 and their paths never crossed at Anfield.
