Jesse Lingard has stated on Instagram ‘love that’ after West Ham striker Michail Antonio expressed his delight at scoring his first goal for Jamaica.

The hard-hitting West Ham player came off the bench as Jamaica recorded a 1-1 draw against El Salvador in their World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

Lingard posted the following in the comments section to his former Hammers teammate:

“Love that,” said Lingard. “Well done big bro.”

Actor and West Ham fan Ray Winstone added: “Fabulous goal.”

Whilst YouTube personality Harry Pinero also commented by saying: “Yeah, you’re not playing games.”

The likes of Angelo Ogbonna, Darren Randolph and Carlos Sanchez also congratulated their current or former teammate.

There’s no stopping Antonio, at the moment, who at the age of 31 is playing the best football of his career.

From Non-League to becoming West Ham’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League, it has been some journey for the previously tricky winger.

Just like Jamie Vardy, he has had some rise during these past few years and it just goes to show that you can still fulfil your Premier League dreams, regardless of your age.

But it can get much better for Antonio and Davies Moyes’ side this season because they can add a trophy to their name.

The East London side are in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, they are going strong in the Europa League and they have the FA Cup to come.

Added with that, they are in a Premier League title race and they will be hoping Antonio can take inspiration from Vardy and help the Hammers shock the world this season.
