Tammy Abraham has praised Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson after he shared on Instagram that he has ‘funded a new pitch’ for his old primary School, Michael Faraday in South London.

Born and raised in South London, Nelson came through the Hale-End ranks, before donning the colours of the Arsenal senior side, via some loan spells, and he is now starting to cook, including scoring a brace and supplying an assist when Mikel Arteta’s side beat Nottingham Forest last month.

But for Nelson, it all started with cage football on the playgrounds of his old primary school, as he has used his money to give something back to the community and the next generation of young stars, in the comments section of his IG post, Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who was also raised in London, simply posted ‘love it’.

ARSENAL’S YOUNG GUNS SHINING

On football’s biggest stage, Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka is flying the flag for those in the Arsenal academy and any young kid making the ball talk on London’s streets.

For England’s World Cup opener in Qatar, he netted a brace, as Gareth Southgate’s side opened their account by thumping Iran 6-2.

At the last World Cup in Russia, Saka was still a fresh-faced teenager trying to make a name for himself at his boyhood club.

But his rise in recent years has been pretty remarkable, and Nelson, who is one year older, will be hoping to jump on this fast-moving Emirates train.

With Premier League football halted, the Gunners are sitting on top of the tree and will be there for Christmas.

From Saka to Granit Xhaka, no matter how old or no matter what your standing is, a number of players have improved under Arteta’s stewardship.

Nelson will be hoping to take those giant leaps during these next 12 months because Arsenal are keeping their foot on the accelerator, no matter what.
