Rodney Marsh has praised reported Arsenal target John Stones on Twitter following his performance for Manchester City against Chelsea at the weekend.
The former City forward believes that Stones, who is reportedly wanted by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, has turned around his career.
The Gunners are keen on bringing the former Everton central defender to the Emirates Stadium if he becomes available in the January transfer window, according to a report in Eurosport in December.
Arsenal manager Arteta worked with the England international when he was a coach at City.
Unlikely Arsenal transfer in January?
Stones played well for City in their win against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
It was the 26-year-old centre-back’s seventh start in the Premier League this season, according to WhoScored, and his performance was rated at 7 by Sky Sports.
City manager Pep Guardiola is using Stones quite regularly now, and it is hard to see the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss sell the defender in the middle of the season and affect his side’s chances of winning the Premier League title.
