Rodney Marsh has said on Twitter that he enjoyed Alfie Devine scoring for Tottenham Hotspur this evening.
Devine was on target for Tottenham in their 5-0 win against Marine away from home in the third round of the FA Cup.
The young midfielder came on at the start of the second half and scored a wonderful goal on the hour mark.
Former Manchester City forward Marsh was following the match, and he was pleased to see the 16-year-old score.
One for the future
It was a special occasion for Devine to play in the FA Cup for Tottenham and score for the Premier League club.
The 16-year-old cost Spurs £300,000 when they signed him from Wigan Athletic, as reported by Football.London, and there is a very good chance that it could end up being a bargain.
The teenager is a former Liverpool academy player, and the talented and promising midfielder will hope to establish himself in the Tottenham first team in the coming years.
Perhaps the 16-year-old will get more chances in cup games this season, and that would help him progress and develop as a footballer.
