Rob Holding has expressed his delight on Aaron Ramsey’s Instagram after the ex-Arsenal man helped Wales reach the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
During his days at Arsenal, Ramsey was part of some special days, but nothing will top what unfolded for the midfielder in Cardiff on Sunday.
Wales beat Ukraine 1-0 in their World Cup play-off final and, as a result, they will now be heading to the world’s biggest stage for the first time since 1958.
It’s a remarkable achievement for Rob Page’s side, with Ramsey, alongside Gareth Bale, playing a huge role in this success.
When Ramsey showcased his joy on Instagram at Wales’ win and that all-important ticket to Qatar, his former Arsenal teammate, Holding, posted in the comments section the following message.
“Let’s go!!!” said Holding. “Love it, Rambo.”
WHAT NEXT FOR RAMSEY ON THE DOMESTIC STAGE?
Whilst everything is rosy for Ramsey on the international stage, it’s not going as planned on the domestic circuit for the three-time FA Cup winner.
Ever since the 31-year-old departed Arsenal in 2019, he has gone backwards, including only making 70 appearances for Juventus during that period.
That landed him on Rangers’ doorstep during the January transfer window, but it’s fair to say that was a move to forget.
Ramsey will now return to Turin where he has one year left on his current deal with Juventus.
He can’t afford to stay in Italy because, leading up to the 2022 World Cup, he won’t get enough starts to be properly ready for Qatar later on this year.
So, another loan move, perhaps to the Premier League? Would probably be a wise call from the midfielder this summer.
