Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has posted on Instagram ‘love to see it’ after Arsenal forward, Folarin Balogun, dropped a major hint regarding his international future.
The Arsenal academy product recently dropped out of England U21 duty with injury, but he was seen in the USA, where there is talk that the Brooklyn-born player could switch allegiances and represent the USMNT.
Well, Folarin Balogun might have dropped the biggest hint yet that might happen, because he posted an emoji of the American flag on Instagram, with his England U21 teammate, Madueke, reacting in the comments section ‘love to see it’, with fans bombarding the player with messages about him possibly representing the USA.
BIG MOVE FOR BALOGUN
In the summer, with Mikel Arteta bringing in Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, it pushed the 21-year-old further down Arsenal’s pecking order.
Not only is Jesus in front of the Hale-End star, but so is Eddie Nketiah, and even the likes of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli given their versatile ways.
But Balogun isn’t sitting back and sulking, but sticking his chest out whilst on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Reims, who are managed by 30-year-old Englishman Will Still.
Over the course of the season, he has 17 goals from 27 games, including netting a late equaliser at PSG recently. He is trying to become his club’s very own Kylian Mbappe and good luck to the young kid in that.
But this possible switch to the USA will do him the world of good because it will expose him on the international stage, add another layer of pressure to his game and help him take that next step up.
Whether that equates to breaking into Arsenal’s first team, well, only time will tell.
But, so far, Balogun is taking the right steps and going down the right path when he can become a goalscoring regular in the Premier League.
