Alan Shearer has said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will find it tough to win against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, and former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas is pleased to hear that.
Arsenal will take on Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Monday evening.
The Gunners are fifth in the league table at the moment with 66 points from 36 matches, two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
Newcastle legend Shearer has said that the atmosphere at St. James’ Park will be electric tonight and will make it hard for Arsenal, and former Magpies and Tottenham midfielder Jenas is pleased to hear it.
Newcastle United vs Arsenal
Shearer said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One: “Tough one tomorrow night. Tough game. The atmosphere at St. James’ Park tomorrow night will be electric, as it has been for a while now, and Newcastle will make it very, very tough game for them.”
Jenas responded: “That’s everything that I wanted to hear. Absolutely love it.”

Big game
In our opinion, the match between Newcastle United and Arsenal at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this evening is massive for the Gunners and for Tottenham Hotspur.
A defeat for Arsenal would hand the advantage to Tottenham in the battle for the fourth and final Champions League spot in the Premier League table this season.
Newcastle have nothing to play for, but the players will be determined to put on a show for the St. James’ Park faithful.
