Frederic Guilbert has stated on Instagram ‘love it’ after Matty Cash signed a new contract with Aston Villa.

On Monday, Villa announced that the 24-year-old has signed a new five-year deal with the ambitious Midlands giants.

When the news broke yesterday evening, several players reacted to the news, with Guilbert posting on IG ‘Well done Cashy. Love it.’

Anwar El Ghazi, who is out on-loan at Everton, also posted ‘deserved bro’, whilst Matty Targett, another loanee that left in January, added ‘well done mate’.

This is a statement of intent from Villa because they have penned down one of their best players to a new deal.

All after strong rumours were circulating that Atletico Madrid were keen to sign the all-action right-back during the summer transfer window, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

The current campaign couldn’t end quicker for Villa because they started off last summer with Jack Grealish on their books, before losing him to Manchester City and then Dean Smith getting the sack before Christmas.

Whilst Steven Gerrard has had his moments, in truth, there have been more bad moments than good, as Villa are looking at another mid-table finish.

During this season of abject form and performances, someone like Cash has stood out and improved out on that flank.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if he is named Villa’s Player of the Year at the end of the season because he is probably edging towards that during these final few months of the campaign.

Not forgetting that the London-born player is also a fully-fledged Polish international and will be going to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
