Jose Enrique has suggested on Twitter that he wanted Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to sign James Maddison from Leicester City before he moved to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Liverpool star and pundit has said that James Maddison, who has moved to Tottenham Hotspur from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, would have done well at Anfield.

Maddison has joined Tottenham from Leicester, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

The England international playmaker has cost Spurs £40 million (The Telegraph) in transfer fees.

The Telegraph have reported that the 26-year-old is earning £170,000 per week as salary at Spurs.

Jose Enrique would have loved new Tottenham Hotspur signing James Maddison at Liverpool

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are a better fit for James Maddison than Liverpool.

Liverpool do not tend to play with a number 10, well, not in the traditional sense.

While Maddison can play out wide, the England international is best used in the role of a playmaker.

And that is very likely that is where he will be used at Spurs.

Tottenham have not really had a superb number 10 since the departure of Christian Eriksen.

And now in Maddison, they have one.
