Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Leeds United U23s captain has been lavishing praise upon Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling, naming them as two of his biggest influences.
The youngster captained the Whites’ U23s to a triumph in their PL2 group, and as you can imagine, he was asked about his influences in the Leeds first-team.
Cresswell says that Cooper and Ayling’s leadership and style of play make them great role models for him.
“There’s loads of influences in the first-team, and everyone has their own role models because of their positions, but I look up to Coops and Ayling, and I want to be like them with the leadership style. I love the way they play, and I love everything about them. It’s just so great to have them around to ask them questions all the time and keep on improving,” Cresswell said.

If Cresswell grows to become half as good as Cooper or Ayling, Leeds will have a handy player in their ranks.
The fact that Cresswell highlights leadership as a vital attribute at such a young age is a testament to his fantastic mentality and drive.
Perhaps one day he can captain the Leeds United first-team, but of course, it’s too early to say that at this point.
