Daniel Sturridge has admitted that he misses Liverpool after being tweeted by a supporter yesterday.
Sturridge was let go by Liverpool in 2019, after Jurgen Klopp decided not to renew his contract.
He has since gone and played for Trabzonspor and now remains a free agent.
A clip of Sturridge in a Liverpool shirt was posted yesterday on social media, to which a Reds fan tweeted him, saying how much they missed him.
And Sturridge responded by saying: “Love and miss the club too brother.”
A goalscorer like Sturridge could actually have come in really handy for Liverpool right now.
Given his injury record few complaints can be had over Klopp’s decision not to extend his contract.
However, the Reds haven’t had much firepower in reserve this term and that has cost them.
Although Diogo Jota has done well since stepping in at Liverpool, the Portuguese forward is the same kind of natural finisher that Sturridge was.
Liverpool have, therefore, lacked goals on occasions this term, with both Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane struggling to hit the back of the net.
During his seven year stay with Liverpool, Sturridge hit 67 goals in 160 appearances for the Reds.
